Church Hunting

We have lived here in Missouri for 7 months and still haven't really found our church home, granted we have not been actively looking the entire time.

For about the first 4 months we were visiting a large church out in town about every other week.
The things we LOVED:
Children's ministry
Praise and Worship music
Preaching

I know your probably thinking well what else is there right?  Well the only thing that didn't work for us was how big it was  I grew up in a small church and have always felt more at home in a smaller congregation.  It wasn't that we didn't feel welcome we just weren't making connections.

We visited two different chapels here on post and have enjoyed both services.

The only problem with Chapel #1 is there is no children's program.  So though it fits all of our other criteria we cannot attend there.

Chapel #2 has great preaching, children's church, and we know families who attend there.  Music is the only issue it is VERY traditional and although I enjoy it praise and worship is really where my heart is music wise.

We are going to attend Chapel 2 for a couple more weeks and then make a decision.

On that not I would like to say that my blessing of the day is that we  have so many choices on where we want to worship.  Thank You Lord that we live in a country where everyone has the opportunity to find their fit.

Silly Haley, Uniforms, and Books

I love spending my days with my kids they are so funny, hysterically so sometimes.  I have taken to calling my youngest High Speed Haley because her whole life is done at warp speed, sometimes to her detriment because she falls constantly.  I am so blessed to call her my daughter.

We decided today to go ahead and buy Nick a new dress uniform because in time it will be required any way and he needs something to wear to the father daughter dance.  The girls are super excited about this dance they cannot wait to get all dressed up and go with their daddy, this is to be expected though.  The thing that I wasn't expecting was how excited Nick would be to go with them, he is looking forward to this date with such anticipation that I have fallen in love with him all over again.  He is an amazing father and I cannot begin to express how blessed I feel that God chose him for  me.

Tonight I went for a some mommy time at Panera with the PWOC book club.  PWOC-Protestant Women of the Chapel is an organization run by the Chaplains Corp on military posts for wives, and it is a WONDERFUL place that I don't know what I would do without.

Starting Over

I am starting over with this whole blogging thing because I didn't put much effort into it last time or like what I was using it to talk about.  So this time my blog is going to be about everyday life and the spotlight moments but also taking time EVERYDAY to remind myself "How Big I'm Blessed".
